Black Tech Futures
Tiauna Webb is a faith-rooted public interest technologist and social impact strategist committed to advancing digital equity, cultural memory, and justice within Black communities across the Diaspora. As Co-Director of Public Interest Technology at the #BlackTechFutures Research Institute, she supports initiatives that equip Black faith communities to engage artificial intelligence and emerging technologies through a moral, cultural, and community lens.
Framing technology within a faith, cultural, and ancestral lens, Tiauna translates technology into accessible, sacred language for communities often left out of the digital conversation. Her work bridges theology, technology, and social transformation-ensuring that innovation reflects the wisdom, dignity, and creativity of Black life.
A graduate of the University of Pittsburgh (Master of International Development- African Studies) and Chicago Theological Seminary (Master of Divinity- Black Faith and Life), Tiauna has led projects supported by partners such as the Ford Foundation, Energy Foundation, and Open Society Foundations. Her global experience includes development work in Ghana, Haiti, and Tanzania, where she worked with, learned from and trained leaders and youth in education, health, and child welfare.
Tiauna is also a millennial mother of three (ages 7, 5, and 3) and wife, grounding her leadership in the daily practice of care, creativity, and community. She believes that faith itself is a technology of liberation- and that the future of technology must be shaped by the ancestral intelligence, cultural resilience, and spiritual imagination of Black communities across the globe.
