Jordan Gasior-Kavishe

Jordan “Jo” Gasior-Kavishe is an AI Governance Fellow in the AI Governance Lab at the Center for Democracy & Technology (CDT). Her research interests lie at the intersections of artificial intelligence, free expression, and privacy.

Before joining CDT, Jordan held positions at IBM Research, where she developed agentic AI tools, data quality controls, and explored LLM code generation. She then spent time at the Democracy and Technology Division in the American Civil Liberties Union’s (ACLU) National Political Advocacy Department; there, Jordan was part of advocacy efforts focused on technology’s implications on free speech, privacy, surveillance, and civil rights. Beyond her work in industry and civil society, Jordan has conducted research on computational policy analysis, AI’s implications on copyright law, and community centered LLM evaluations at Brown University’s Center for Technological Responsibility, Reimagination, and Redesign.

She holds Bachelor’s degrees in Computer Science & International and Public Affairs from Brown University, as well as completed additional studies at Trinity College Dublin.
